The Electronic Cigarette: Inhaling vapor, not smoke

An Electronic Cigarette is a stainless steel shell with an indicator light simulating a lighted cigarette tip.  It has a micro-electronic circuit, a lithium ion battery and a vapor atomizer device.  The electronic cigarette is designed to provide the same pleasure as a regular cigarette enjoyed by tobacco smokers.  In lieu of the smoke though, it emits pure vapor creating a better smoke-free atmosphere.

Electronic cigarettes have three main components:  the battery, the cartridge and the atomizer.  Some electronic cigarettes units combine the vapor atomizer device and the cartridge and call it cartomizer.  The atomizer heats up the flavored nicotine to create a harmless vapor which is inhaled by the smoker or vaper.

E Cigarette kits can be purchased with two batteries and one atomizer.  When a user wants two independent eCigarettes an extra atomizer can be assembled with one of the two batteries in the regular kit.  The eCigarette is activated by the eCigarette component.  A smart chip inside the battery automatically activates the atomizer device when the user puffs it.  The battery is good for the whole day when recharged an hour a day.

The atomizer is the heating component and powerhouse of the electronic cigarette, without which it cannot function.  The air flow sensor and the microprocessor are contained in the atomizer.  The little wick absorbs the solution from the cartridge and a sensor detects every time the user takes a drag.  Then the atomizer is triggered to start heating up the nicotine solution to produce the vapor.  The user inhales the vapor instead of smoke.  The older electronic cigarette models require the activation of the atomizer manually, but the newer models have the new sensors.

When used correctly the  vapor atomizer device can last up to 6 months.  However, atomizers may be replaced whenever the vapor shows signs of lessened potency.  It is advised not to use one atomizer too long at one time as there is danger of overheating.  You may switch atomizers whenever you feel that it is getting too hot.

Starting a Small Business by Medz Cajanding

Starting a Small Business

A small business may be easy to put up for some people who have been brought up in a business environment and learned through years of apprenticeship in a family enterprise.  Some people put up a business in an industry sector where their family has been in, so they just begin a new one in a separate state or a different location. There are also some people who have learned the ropes, had differences with their family or mentors and go into small business to compete with their old company; hoping to attract the clients of the established market leader with innovative and more technologically-advanced ideas.  They usually leave with a prospective clients’ list, a database and ready-made tools.

In some cases, individuals suddenly find themselves with surplus money or cash on hand, so they want to put it into a small business venture, to generate income which should be more than what it will earn as interest from a trust fund or a time deposit account. This second situation is much more difficult because the would-be entrepreneur or businessman have to study many things before he can start his own small business.

The first thing one have to consider when contemplating a new business venture is the feasibility study.  Once the feasibility study showed positive results, then the investor may go ahead and draw up his business plan. The feasibility study is the document used to evaluate whether a proposed business venture or project is feasible or not while the business plan contains the steps the new business will go through including the details of what has to be done to start the small business and make it grow.  The business plan may be a detailed plan covering every aspect and contingency of going into business, or it can be a small one suitable for a small business venture.

The business plan should start with an executive summary, naming the company, market opportunities, capital required, uses of funds and its breakdown, loans to be acquired and its repayment schedule.  It should also include the company mission and vision statement, the names of the officers and managers of the proposed organization, an analysis of the competition, the new company’s advantage over the competition and its financial projections for the next 3-5 years.

A small business plan will start with the Organizational Plan, the Marketing Plan and the Financial Plan.  The last part of the Business Plan will include the supporting documents to affirm all the decisions and statements contained in the plan. A businessman should be able to rely on a well-written and realistic business plan to guide him in starting a business.

Business to Business or B2B by Medz Cajanding

Business to Business also known as B2B in the business and marketing sectors means transaction between two business entities like a wholesaler transacting with a retailer or a transaction between a wholesaler and a manufacturer.

Business to business transactions are usually of a higher volume than transactions between a business and a direct consumer, mainly because production involves interactions and transactions with several suppliers for raw material components and service providers while a finished product is transacted only once in a Business to Consumer (B2C) final transaction.

In the context of collaboration and communication many companies increasingly use the internet and social media to connect with clients and consumers.  Business to business communication occurs between individuals working for different companies or enterprises in the social media setting like LinkedIn or using applications to share official information like Google Docs.

In marketing, business to business was initially used to describe marketing of capital goods or industrial equipment and machineries.  Business to business marketing evolved to describe marketing of all products and services enterprises procure for their daily operations.  Professional marketing organizations and trade publications generally focus on business to consumer activities than business to business but most of the marketing personnel focus their promotional efforts towards institutional requirements and business from established organizations and business entities.

Because email marketing is perceived as a free form of advertising, it has been abused by many aggressive marketers.  In business to business marketing, executives whose email addresses are usually published online have to come to terms with email overload.  The company emails usually have limited capacities, and if they don’t watch out, email quotas of executives are always exceeded.  Consequently, busy executives almost always delete unsolicited emails and opt out of email marketing lists.  When business to business email marketing becomes too aggressive, or when it uses contractors and consultants without understanding the consequences, the ability of the business to influence, present new concepts and products, nurture business relationships and retain clients get lost.  Email marketing can be efficient and a cheap mode of promotions and marketing if correctly executed and not abused.

Traditional forms of promotions and marketing continue to be overtaken by technological advances and new forms of media.  Business to business marketers have to be innovative and be updated on the latest trends of communications in our evolving global economy.  Marketers have to be exposed to new developments in the areas of market selection, customer management, product positioning, channel management, lead generation, social media, customer behavior and branding.  Learning to assess global markets, customers and segments will make business to business promotions and marketing strategies more effective and focused.

Advertising by Medz Cajanding

Advertising is communicating a message to a set of people or audience to persuade them to change behavioral patterns, or to continue with their present behavior.  Advertising is oftentimes used in relation to a commercial product or services although institutional and political advertising is also practiced.  Advertising may also be focused on stakeholders, shareholders, employees and workers to send them a positive message.

Sponsors and advertisers usually pay for advertising spots or media mileage using traditional media like the print media or the broadcast media.  Other forms of advertising are traditional billboards, electronic billboards, direct mail, distribution of flyers, handbills and brochures, free samples or the new media like websites, social media and sending text messages.

An advertisement is sometimes referred to as a “commercial” because they feature commercial products or consumer goods.  Companies belonging to the public relations and advertising services industry usually produce the advertisements for organizations and companies that want to promote their products or enhance the image of their companies.  The advertising industry field also includes the firms that sell the advertising space, serving as media representatives for the print media or publications, radio, television and the internet where the advertisements will be placed.  Display advertising refers to those ads created for public display on billboards, shopping malls, subways, taxis, airports, train stations or similar media.

The role of advertising is the creation of increased awareness about a company, product or service and the promotion and exposure of the “brand or name” ultimately boosting sales.  Most companies focus on their “bottom line” and their day-to-day operations like production, administration, human resources, services and sales.  The creation of effective advertisements will need allocation of resources, and hiring of regular personnel that may only work on temporary advertising campaigns.  Hiring an advertising agency well-versed with research, the production aspects and placing of the advertisements in the most effective time slots and heavy traffic areas oftentimes produce better results than an in-house advertising department.

The internet has changed so many aspects of the advertising world.  Public relations services and advertising agencies are now diversifying and offering various services aside from public relations, marketing, sales and interactive media.  With the explosive growth of internet users, many agencies are now refocusing their campaigns to include social media and internet advertising.

Advertising and public relations is an exciting but stressful field.  Creativity on a tight schedule can be very frustrating.  Consultants, lobbyists, creative writers and graphic artists must meet tight deadlines and may be required to work very long hours. The work may also involve travelling to meet with media representatives and consult with clients.

Homemaking Links

http://www.everydayhomemaking.com

http://missabigailshopechest.blogspot.com

I am ready with pictures to start Social Responsibility Blogs for PhilAction, but I found this great homemakers link that I cannot pass up.

And then it suddenly hit me.  We are trying to promote quality and productivity, encourage people to train and enhance their knowledge.  But everything starts in the home.  We learn the basics as children.  We develop our values and knowledge before we even start school. From babyhood, it has been our homemaking moms that have been our mentors and teachers.

And there are really homemaking courses, craft courses, cooking classes that some of us may be interested in.  So I have made a turnaround, shelved Engineering Solutions, Environmental Degradation Problems, Global Warming, Q&P, Work Safety, Accounting, Marketing, Family Welfare in the Workplace — and decided to post these links to the most basic training of all – where we should all start.

It is a site where there are 71 other great homemaking sites you can click and explore. There are recipes, home making and child rearing tips and all things that women and some men all over the world care about and think about.
